SGM Builders was set up specifically for this. We handle the coordination side so you can focus on the decisions that actually matter to you: what the finished space looks like, what materials you want, how it fits your life. Kitchen Remodeling
The kitchen is usually where the budget conversation gets real fast. Materials have a wide range stock cabinets versus custom, laminate versus quartz, basic tile versus something you fell in love with at a showroom. We've worked across the full spectrum.
A medium kitchen remodel with us typically runs about four weeks once permits are in hand and materials are ordered. That timeline assumes standard scope: cabinet removal and replacement, countertops, backsplash, flooring, appliances, lighting. Larger kitchens or projects that involve moving walls or plumbing take longer we'll tell you what to expect based on your specific plans.
We'll go to the showroom with you if that's helpful, or we can bring samples to your house. What we don't do is make decisions for you and hope you like the result at the end.
Bathroom Remodeling
Bathrooms move faster than kitchens. Most bathroom remodels we handle are completed in about two weeks. Full gut — tile, fixtures, vanity, shower or tub, lighting, everything — two weeks for a standard-size bathroom.
Larger master bath projects take longer, especially if the layout is changing or we're doing a custom tile shower. We'll set a realistic timeline based on what you actually want.
Room Additions & Home Additions
Adding square footage is different from renovating existing space. You're working with permits, structural engineering, foundations, and tying the new addition into the existing home's framing, roofline, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Room additions are a strong investment in markets like Hollister and Gilroy, where resale values have been climbing and lot sizes allow for expansion.
Interior and Exterior Paint
Paint is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost improvements you can make to a home. We handle both interior and exterior painting as part of larger projects and as standalone jobs. Surface prep is where corners get cut — we don't skip it.
Flooring
Hardwood, tile, luxury vinyl plank, laminate we install all of it. We also handle subfloor repairs and leveling, which matters more than most homeowners realize until they try to install new flooring over an uneven surface.
Windows and Doors
Window and door replacements improve energy efficiency, security, and curb appeal. We handle the installation and ensure everything is properly flashed and sealed.
Stucco
Interior and exterior stucco work repair, re-coat, new applications. Particularly common in our market area. We match existing textures on repairs so it doesn't look patched.
What Makes a Remodel Go Smoothly
Honest answer: decisions made early. The projects that run into problems are usually ones where material selections get delayed. We work hard to front-load those decisions before we start construction, so the build phase moves without interruptions.
We also don't give you an optimistic timeline to win the job and then miss it. If something is going to take four weeks, we tell you four weeks.
